One could call it the art of engineering in competition if we talk about Porsche prototypes from a today’s point of view. Within only a few years the over 1000 HP strong 5.4 litre twin turbo engine of the Can Am 917 was developed, starting with a 2 litre 4 cylinder engine in the 904 GTS only a few years before. Porsches Prototypes always fascinated not only drivers and team leaders but also spectators and fans with their unique design and their superior technical development. Again mostly unpublished photographs will take you on a journey to the glorious 60s and 70s, the books are limited to 911 examples and numbered each.
