1961 heralded a new era for motor racing with the introduction of the 1.5 litre Formula 1 cars. It was a double challenge for Stirling, who was still recovering from the accident that had almost killed him in the year before. Yet, a rested and refreshed Moss relished the challenge.
In this season of change, he drove Lotus, including the Lotus 18 to his most famous Formula 1 win in at Monaco, Ferraris, rear-engined Coopers and Porsches, including the pretty RS 60 and 718/2 single seater, and found time to court a succession of glamorous women, much to the delight of the world's press!
